My Job, My Dog, My Lint Roller

Things are starting to look up.  I just got hired at Victoria's Secret.  As I mentioned in my previous post, this job is a great fit for me.  I love sales, working with customers, and I look thin in black-which is the required uniform for employees.  Each day I get up, get ready for work, and don my favorite black pants and sweater.  However I have forgotten that I now have a wonderful tan colored dog that sheds like crazy.

Just as I am all ready to walk out the door, she decides that she needs to jump on me to let me know that she needs to go outside and potty.  By the time I get her outside, back inside, and into her cage I am covered from head to toe in lovely tan fun.  Black clothes and fur and not good friends.

So I have decided to be-friend the little Scotch lint brush that I saw while waiting in line at Walmart.  Now I can have my dog and my job!

  1. Amy, I love reading this blog. I hope now that you're re-entered the work force you still find time to write. Your determination to move ahead in the face of adversity is as inspiring as any of the stories we were told about the early American setlers, founders and explorers, when we were kids. Best wishes in all your endeavors and hope to see more installments here.

  2. Ron, thank you so much for the kind words. Believe me, there have been several times over the last month that I felt like a failure. Writing this blog reminds me every day that I am strong and not willing to give up without a fight. Although I am working now, its only part time, which leaves me plenty of time to write. And think of all the material I will have now that I work at the mall!

  3. I love reading your blog as well, Amy. You are a trooper, that's for sure! Hang in there and something good will come of this. When God closes a window, He opens a door. Something good has already come to me because of what happened to you...I've decided not to give Mr. Arrogant CEO another dime of MY money! We can all show him that IT'S A PRIVILEGE for him to have OUR business by taking our money elsewhere. Besides, with all the money I'm not spending at the casino, I can afford to buy something at Victoria's Secret :) Good Luck to you in your future endeavor!

  4. Thank you for the support. And I am happy to hear that you will be leaving the casino in the rear view mirror. I am sure there will be many positives that will come of that. Save the casino fund for another deserving facility. I guarantee your odds will be better too:) And please stop and visit me at Victoria's Secret anytime! I would be happy to help you find something great!!

  5. Amy pick up a roll of masking tape or two from the dollar store. Leave one in your car. Why you ask? When you rush out the door & forget to use the lint brush or you don't think its bad until you get to your destination, that handy dandy roll of tape is just as good as a lint brush & will come in handy multiple times! If you can the get the wide tape, it makes life so much easier!!

  6. Thanks Staci!! I love this idea! You are so right about thinking I am hair-free...until I get to my final destination. Picking those little hairs off one by one is never fun!
